Lace up your running shoes, put on your Santa hat, and join us for the Rancho Cordova Police Activities League (PAL) Holiday Run on Saturday, December 9!
In its sixth year, proceeds from the PAL Holiday Run support the more than 1,200 local youth that participate in PAL programs annually. PAL is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that builds relationships between the Rancho Cordova Police Department and youth through activities, such as sports programs, scholarships, and a Youth Leadership Council, at no cost to the kids.
Registration is now open through Monday, December 4 by visiting http://palholidayrun.com/. Sign up to participate in the 5K for adult or youth, 10K for adult or youth, or 1.2 mile family walk and run.
The PAL Holiday Run kicks off at Village Green Park, 3141 Bridgeway Drive, with registration beginning at 7:30 AM and races at 8:30 AM. Packet pick-up will be held on Friday, December 8 from 10 AM – 6 PM at Fleet Feet Sports, 2311 J Street, where participants will receive a Santa hat, Sport-Tek long sleeve shirt, race bib, and other goodies.
Three special things will take place at this year’s event:
- Rancho Cordova PAL will collect new, unwrapped toys and games for children from newborn to 17 years for Christmas in Cordova, an event that supports more than 400 local families in need during the holiday season.
- Rancho Cordova Mayor Donald Terry will join the run as part of his Moving with the Mayor initiative, a way to work out with various groups in the City and get exercise. Make sure to wave hello to him on the race course!
- Members of the Star Wars, 501st Legion Central California Garrison will make a special appearance!
