Eligibility to Receive the COVID-19 Vaccine

Everyone in California who is 6 months or older is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are approved for those who are 6 months or older, the Novavax vaccine is approved for those who are 12+.

COVID-19 vaccine booster shots, called updated bivalent boosters, are approved for those who are 5+. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccine booster shots protect against the original virus that causes COVID-19 and the Omicron variants.
