City of Rancho Cordova
Home MenuCelebrating Diversity
The City of Rancho Cordova is a diverse community of over 81,000 who live here and 65,000 who work here. In fact, Rancho Cordova is the 29th most diverse city in the United States (according to Esmi), and more than 90 languages are spoken at our local schools. Our Rancho Cordova community celebrates and supports this diversity in many ways:
- The International Festival, or iFest, is held annually in May to showcase sounds, dance and tastes from around the world so people can experience other cultures.
- The Mills Station Arts and Culture Center features exhibits year-round that highlight our diverse history, such as on the civil rights movement, the suffrage movement, and pride civil rights.
- Local organizations, from the Cordova Lancers, Leaders, and Legends to the Sacramento Telangana Association, have been awarded grants from the city's Community Enhancement & Investment Fund to support events and programs that showcase and support our diverse community.
- The city partners with Center of Praise Ministries, which donated a building for the new Rancho Cordova Youth Center that opened in 2022. The city invested nearly $8 million to renovate the 1.75-acre property, and the federal government will provide a $350,000 grant for programming and equipment.
- The city's robust community engagement program is active in many of our communities of color, and celebrates community assets and grows community leaders.
