The City of Rancho Cordova developed a Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated in our city. The Climate Action and Adaptation Plan sets goals to reduce emissions and outline policies and actions to achieve these goals. The Climate Action and Adaptation Plan also assesses vulnerabilities to climate change impacts, as well as identifies strategies to adapt to these impacts.

Through the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan, community members will have the opportunity to make their homes and businesses more sustainable, save money, and promote a healthier environment.

Final Climate Action and Adaptation Plan and CEQA Negative Declaration

Following the City Council Meeting on September 18, 2023, the City Council approved the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP). The final versions of these documents can be found at the links below.

Next Steps

Now that the CAAP has been adopted, city staff will be putting together an Implementation Strategy that will detail CAAP measure implementation over the next 12-24 months. It is anticipated that the Implementation Strategy will be prepared by early 2024. Staff will continue to stay in touch with the public and stakeholders during this strategy development process.
