Waste and Recycling Programs in the City of Rancho Cordova
Residential Food Waste Recycling Is Here
On July 4, 2022, the City of Rancho Cordova launched a Food Waste Recycling Program to comply with a new state law, Senate Bill 1383. This program will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the effects of climate change, which include severe drought, warmer temperatures, increased wildfires, and severe storms.
During the first week in May, Rancho Cordova residents received detailed information about the Food Waste Recycling program in the mail. You can also access this information in Spanish and Russian.
In June and July, residents received a kitchen pail, booklet and compostable bags delivered to their homes. If you did not receive a kitchen pail, booklet and compostable bags, please contact Republic Services at 916.638.9000 and they will deliver a pail to you as soon as possible.
