Grant Line Road Closure Public Meeting
In order to fully construct a pedestrian and cyclist-friendly Douglas Road, a temporary road closure will need to occur. The closure will last for approximately 6 months. This temporary inconvenience will pave the way for long-term benefits, including:
1) new roadway built to current safety standards
2) new pedestrian sidewalks and cyclist lanes
3) lighting to provide safe driving at night and in bad weather
4) extended infrastructure will make new home construction possible, bringing the community closer to warranting the construction of the long anticipated middle- and high-school
5) reduction in overall construction delays
6) availability of commercial and retail opportunities
