Local non-profit Suvidha International Foundation is hosting a free robotics competition for middle school students on Saturday, May 21 in the City of Rancho Cordova. Around 60 Rancho Cordova students on 10 teams have been participating in a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) robotics program since January. The program has taught the students the basics of robotics, robot design and coding, and building Lego robots, as well as provided them with team building and leadership development opportunities.

The students will finish the program by putting their skills to the test in a robotics competition. Each team was provided with Lego robot kits and have been building and testing their robots. The teams will participate in two competitions for the top three winner spots.

Schedule:

9 AM – 10 AM: Welcome

10 AM – Noon: Challenge #1

1 PM – 3 PM: Challenge #2

3 PM – 5 PM: Awards Ceremony
