Local nonprofit Suvidha International Foundation's vision is to adopt and empower villages in Telugu states. They focus on educating children, providing leadership and vocational training for youth and women, and more.
With support from the city’s Community Enhancement & Investment Fund, the foundation has been hosting a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) robotics program for Rancho Cordova youth since January. The program has taught the students the basics of robotics, robot design and coding, as well as providing them with team building and leadership development opportunities.
The students will finish the program by putting their skills to the test in a robotics competition on Saturday, May 6 at Rancho Cordova City Hall. Stop by to see 15 teams compete for first place.
