After a two-year hiatus, the popular Neighborhood Walks with the Mayor have been scheduled in Rancho Cordova. Rancho Cordova Mayor Robert McGarvey will lead six Saturday morning neighborhood walks – each starting at a different Rancho Cordova school.
The walks are about one mile in length at a leisurely pace. Light refreshments are served at 8:30 a.m. and the walks start at 9 a.m.
Several hundred people have participated in the neighborhood walks since they were started several years ago.
“I wanted to start them up again because it’s a chance for people to walk, exercise, and talk with neighbors and City officials,” said Mayor McGarvey. “They can ask questions about City plans, voice their concerns, or just come and enjoy the camaraderie.”
Adults, seniors, teens, and parents with their children are invited to participate.
