The City of Rancho Cordova is embarking on a journey to develop the Rancho Cordova Active Transportation Plan (ATP), which will be a new plan that establishes a vision for walking, rolling, and bicycling in Rancho Cordova. The ATP will identify needs in the community to create a low-stress network of streets, sidewalks, and paths, connecting people where they live to where they want to go. The plan will be grounded in today, while planning for tomorrow and the rise of e-bikes and scooters, and the need to meet critical climate action goals. People are at the center of this plan, and both equity and community voices will drive priorities and projects.

Project Overview

The ATP aims to create a safer, more accessible network of city streets and shared-use walking and biking paths for people of all ages and abilities. This will require listening to community voices. We hope you will join us in shaping this new vision for the city.

Get Involved

Collaboration with the Rancho Cordova community will be critical throughout the ATP process. The City is encouraging all residents to get involved and have their voices heard. Now through October 31st, the ATP team is seeking feedback on which improvements to make to the active transportation network in Rancho Cordova. Let your voice be heard and take the survey today!

City Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plans

The City is setting a new, inclusive vision of walking, biking, and rolling in Rancho Cordova and combining that vision into one shared document, the Active Transportation Plan. Until that document is fully complete, please reference the existing Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plans.

Bicycling is becoming an increasingly significant mode of transportation as communities across the globe seek to clean their air and develop healthy living habits. A comprehensive and safe bicycle network can encourage people to get on a bike and ride to work, to school, to run errands, get in shape or just for the fun of it. Ample opportunities for bicycling, for recreation and transportation, are representative of a high standard of living and a community that cares about the environment and the health of its citizenry.
