Beginning January 1, 2025, the City of Rancho Cordova will contract its residential garbage, recycling and street sweeping services with Atlas Disposal—a longstanding local waste management  company headquartered right here in Rancho Cordova. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the city's ongoing commitment to innovative waste management solutions and superior service for its residents.

The new 10-year contract with Atlas Disposal is the result of a competitive procurement process where 4 companies submitted proposals to the city. After thorough comparison and analysis, the City Council awarded the new contract to Atlas Disposal because their proposal represents the best combination of experience, innovation and monthly rates for our residents. Atlas Disposal and the city are working closely together to ensure a smooth transition for residents without service disruption. 

For over 25 years, Atlas Disposal has been an integral part of the Rancho Cordova community, consistently demonstrating dedication to excellence and innovation within the waste industry. As of January 1, 2025, your waste provider will change but your waste services will remain the same. You will still have the same containers, the same street sweeping schedule, and the same waste collection service days for trash, recycling and organic waste. However, if you are enrolled in automatic bill pay for your waste services, you will need to re-enroll prior to January 1, 2025. 

Look for a follow-up mailing with additional information in the fall and winter. For now, we invite residents to meet the Atlas Disposal team at the following events:

🎃 Trunk or Treat at the Rancho Cordova Youth Center, 10455 Investment Circle, on October 25 from 5 PM – 7 PM
🏢 State of the City at City Hall, 2729 Prospect Park Drive, on November 6 from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
