Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

Did you know that according to the 2020 U.S. Census, 21% of Rancho Cordovans identify as Hispanic or Latino? Check out the following ways that our community is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in Rancho Cordova.

At the Library

The Rancho Cordova Public Library is hosting Bilingual Storytime on Tuesdays from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Librarians will share stories and lead you through songs and activities in English and Spanish. A limited supply of maracas and bilingual books will also be available. Learn more here.

Sacramento Latino Book & Family Festival at Sacramento City College

Come support the 75th annual Latino Book & Family Festival! Featuring award-winning authors Reyna Grande, Victor Villaseñor, and Leticia Ordaz on September 28 from 10 AM to 3:30 PM. Special appearance by Edward James Olmos! More information HERE.

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration at Old Sugar Mill

Come celebrate the ribbon cutting of Vino de Oro Vineyard and Winery at the Old Sugar Mill on Thursday, October 3rd from 5 PM to 8 PM, then stay and have a glass of wine, enjoy music by Kandia Entertainment, 94.3 FM y 101.5 FM Radio Lazer, Latino 97.9, enjoy some food from Gondo fusion (and many other options) and shop around to support some of the various vendors, and more! Dia de Los Muertos Fiesta at the California Museum

Celebrate the new exhibit Arte de Inspiración: Día de los Muertos 2024 at the California Museum’s annual Día de los Muertos Fiesta on Sat., Oct. 12! Tickets are $10.00* in advance (on sale through 5:00 pm on Fri., Oct. 11 or until sold out). Save time in line by purchasing advance food and drink tickets as an add-on to event tickets through 2 pm Thurs., Oct. 10.
