Surender Devarapalli currently serves as Planning Commissioner for the City of Rancho Cordova. He is a long-time resident of the City of Rancho Cordova and values the diversity and inclusiveness of our community.

Surender is an engineer with over 30 years of experience in public and private sectors at different levels, including engineer, architect, lead and project coordinator. He has been involved in the planning and implementation of multiple $100,000 through $20 million projects in the process, telecommunications and healthcare sectors. Surender currently serves Medi-Cal beneficiaries through defining appropriate policies.

Surender has volunteered for multiple local nonprofit organizations, including the Rancho Cordova Food Locker and Helping Hands, and through his workplace. He currently serves as a Board Member for Rancho Cordova nonprofit Sacramento Telangana Association that integrates multicultural involvement in local communities.

Surender earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications from Osmania University, India.
